A Blind Inquizition

SUNDAY, JULY 12th - The Sampler, Islington

7.30-9.30pm

A Frenchman and a Cockney Geezer host a blind wine tasting and a quiz, what could possibly go wrong?

Join us for an evening of fun blind wine tasting and quizzing at The Sampler. The experience will include 3×125ml glasses of Calvin (Calvin Klein: wine!) that will be tasted blind for a chance to win additional points as part of a traditional pub-style quiz hosted with quiz master Foulo Fruitini of My Lovely Pub Quiz. It's guaranteed to be a right Bubble (Bubble Bath: laugh!).

Participants are recommended to play as teams of up to six. Individual players can team-up on the evening! There will be multiple prizes up for grabs!

Guests may also buy additional drinks from The Sampler during the quiz, as well as bring their own cheese and charcuterie.

Join me alongside Alex Middleton from Sandridge Barton winery for a fun, informal tasting exploring the budding English wine landscape. We'll dive into the evolution of England’s winemaking from Champagne-inspired winemaking to how it is now crafting its own stylistic identity.

This tasting experience supporting English winemaking doubles as the perfect preamble before England's first appearance in the World Cup at 9pm!

The Rise Of Grower Champagne

MONDAY, MAY 18th - The Winemaker's Club, London

Discover how small-scale, talented growers and winemakers are redifining Champagne during this exploration of the region and learn about the movement that is bringing attention to a category of wine that has long been dominated by big brands and world-famous houses. We'll taste an extensive flight of incredible bottles from the likes of already iconic domains such as Georges Laval and Olivier Horiot, as well as wines from other underrated up-and-coming producers, including the smallest grower (by hectare) in Champagne.
